For many Owners, Design Team selection represents the first and single most important decision they will make. Often led by an Architect, this team will be charged with interpreting and translating your project vision. They will also produce the design documents that determine the cost and quality of your project.

Selecting the right Design Team involves developing a clear understanding of their scope of work, an executive summary of the project’s vision (including cost and schedule), your critical success factors, a clearly defined selection process and well written procurement documents.

Once selection is completed, many Owners are then asked to sign a contract ranging from 6 – 10% of the total project value. This can be a very “gut wrenching” first step.
